I spent 20 hours from yesterday afternoon in A&E with chest pains.
But the upshot is I’m being referred to see a specialist in Angina which is great!!
My bisoprolol has been reduced and doxazosin added and for the first time it was mentioned thst I have spasms although my tortuosity shouldn’t be giving me any pain.I don’t know much about that but I’m so pleased I’m being referred finally!
From being diagnosed with non cardiac chest pain to a heated discussion with the A&E consultant today who completely refuted everything I was saying until I told him our talk was over and then finally being referred to a specialist.
It’s just a shame it’s taken months of emails, heated discussions, visits and an awful lot of stress to get to this point.
but it’s finally happened and I’m so pleased
thank you for all your advice on here
xx

What a fantastic achievement being able to advocate for yourself, that must have taken some doing!Though we shouldn't have to work so hard to achieve the care we need.
It's so awful how many of us have been sent away from A&E being told its non-cardiac related and then to go through hell to finally get a diagnosis. They say stress is really bad for the heart yet we all go through stress fighting to see someone that will listen.
well done ! sometimes we need to put our foot down.
when I was I'm a&e for chest pain ( post ha), the doctor told me to only be worried of the chest pain which comes with arm pain.
I had a stern word and showed in a video from a leading UK Cardiologist on when to worry about chest pain, that heart symptoms don't present themselves in a "classic way" and that on every ambulance it clearly states " if you have chest pain call 999"
thank you for all your kind words. The A&E consultant just refuted absolutely everything I said including no you can’t see cardiology.I said to him twice I haven’t come here to argue I just want help with my pain.when I told him our discussion was over and that I was emailing pals he changed his tune.I’m so drained with it all.I’m torn between emailing and wanting this added to my ongoing complaint or letting it go.Complaints sept have gone very quiet since I let them know I have my medical records and that there are conditions in there that nobody told me about xx
My biggest gripe since having my 'MI' in September has been the pomposity of GP's and Consultants who think they know my body better than I do. To constantly be told I'm imagining things or that I'm wrong is absurd in the extreme. Taken me a long time to finally get someone to understand what's going on with the chest pains. Upshot was I finally saw the head honcho for cardiology who finally cast doubts as to whether I had even had a heart attack and was simply Acute and Recurrent Pericarditis. Something I'd suspected from the very beginning. High fives for sticking to your guns and making them listen.
