Another Stent

I had a heart attack for my 60th birthday nearly 4 years ago and had 3 stents. I made a pretty quick recovery and soon was back into a fairly active life. Then three weeks ago I started to get chest pain coming on just randomly, even at rest - nothing as bad as the heart attack pain but still a worry.One evening I worried when the pain came on and so went to casually. In a nutshell they said I hadn't had a heart attack but they needed to keep me in because it was unstable angina. This resulted in having another stent the next day.

So I had my stent fitted now exactly two weeks ago, I feel absolutely fine apart from getting chest pains on and off all in 3 or 4 different places. - top of tummy, below breast, on my side etc. The pains aren't bad and last anything from a few minutes to an hour. I know everyone is different but has anyone else experienced pain after stents and do you think this is just my chest complaining about the procedure?

Hi Joe it could well be from internal bruising of the procedure. After your heart attack you might have felt strange grumbling? Why not mention it to your Cardio nurse or gp to get peace of mind.

5 weeokd post 3 stents. And I was the same.. Frightened with every... Dart and nip of pain... I had no symptoms. Before and no darts of pain....Cardiologist said. It's the stents settling. In and. Be very careful Putting. On shoes socks etc for at least 4 weeks......

No heavy lifting... Shunting pushing digging etc... And now they are not as bad..... I can nearly forget now...

The worry is shocking and sometimes Overwhelming... But that's to be expected... And once I knew that I kinda settled...... Take. It easy....... Calm your head and. Let the stents settle......

. Am Such a coward. A medical coward although. I. Dispense. Tablets for a. Living... Am still a scardy cat.!!!

Thanks - I keep telling myself it's just settling in. I'm such an optimist with everyone else's health but the opposite with my own!
