Two weeks ago I had a routine biannual echocardiogram.
In the last one which was done becauase I had been diagnosed with a left bundle branch block. It showed I had a mildly impaired ejection fraction.
Now I have an elnlarged left ventricle , and ejection fraction of between 25 and 30% and a leaky mitral valve.
I have ben refeerred for an urgent cardiology appoint ment and I have been told it is a 20 week waiting list.
I do get short of breath and dizzy but no swollen ankles. I ahd been putting the dizzynesss down to breaking my neck last year .when I had a cage ut in. The spinal nurse said i might have some dizzyness as everything setled down.
How do people stay positive with this long wait. I am a reasonalbly fit 71.I have been told not to out door swim which I am issing like mad .

I think the waiting is the worst bit and can be so hard ti stay positive for some
The only way I deal with it is to tell myself if it was really serious they would not make me wait so long so if they are happy for me to wait I will try and focus on that thought
I hope you get an appointment soon and let us know how you get on x
