Last Tuesday I had my biannual echocardiogram for a existing condition declared on my policy.
On Thursday my doctor phoned to say I had a a new problem so I rang Staysure to check they would insure me for travel on Sunday.
The reply came at 5.30pm on Friday that they would not insure me. The reason given was "on the echocardiogram report there was no mention of the BP reading." I now have an enlarged left ventricle with low ejection fraction. I did not have my BP taken!
The three alternatives Staysure gave me was try and claim for my air fare which is all I have paid, fly without insurance or cancel the policy.
I am pleased I phoned as I would have been uninsured!
I will now do battle with the claims people!

First have you considered having a BP check done at a pharmacy which should pass as a credible source of data for Staysure, Next in my one and only dealing with Staysure they would not insure me due to an upcoming angiogram. I had no difficulty finding insurance cover elsewhere. There are also people on here who have told us that they have had bad experiences when trying to claim from Staysure, the reason apparently being that Staysure subcontract claims out to a third party specialist claims company. That's not to say all claims are troublesome, just some. So although a lot of people recommend them I steer clear, in my view Staysure are just as good or bad as the rest. Nonetheless I hope you find a suitable solution to your dilemma.
