Recently started back on Bisoprolol for palpitations/PVCs after 7yrs off. I'm on low dose, 1.25mg but they've really calmed down what were pretty uncomfortable symptoms (3 A&E visits in one weekend!)
Anyhow, have a holter monitor booked for next week and not sure whether to stop the Bisoprolol or just do it as is.
Don't really want to unleash the old symptoms again! And actually questioning what the point of the monitor is at this stage as I'm not in Afib and the betablocker is doing a fine job. I've also previously had monitors which just showed PVCs.
Any opinions gratefully received.

I would call the department and check with them regarding whether you should, or should not take your medications. I think it’ll vary depending on what they are looking for.
Hi am also having 24hr ecg done next week,I take bisoprolol 1.25mg,haven't been told to stop. I am not in Af now either. My consultant said he needs to know what my heart is doing and can learn a lot from this
Hello, I’d personally stay on the bisoprolol, I was in and out of hospital after my heart attack and these tablets kept getting increased from 1.25mg to two 5mg daily now and they help.
Also isosorbide mononitrate has gone up to two 60mg tablets per day from 20mg I think.
I still have a bad chest now with pressure as I have unstable angina but the tablets I mentioned helped me massively.
