Eight months post pacemaker and I thought all was well since I’ve had no AF since I had it fitted back in June 2023. I had my pacemaker check yesterday at the pacing clinic and all was well except I am now having Ectopics but that’s no big deal , then late last nigh I didn’t feel quite right. Bang! Atrial flutter was back , just my luck!

hi Rosie sorry to read this, perhaps medication needs a tweek. My new meds upsetting me a bit dropping my BP to low so HF nurse has halved them now waiting to see if it helps seeing me again next week. But I was told my pace maker won’t stop my AF It’s there to stop me going into cardiac arrest and I’m paced at HR60 so it will kick in if it goes below,

Hi, and thank you for your response. I don’t think it’s medication related as I take very minimal and what I do take is for an aortic valve replacement which I had many years ago and what I do take for that also cover AF/Flutter and I must take these due to the valve. As you rightly say a Pacemaker does not stop AF. I suppose I will just have to live with it again. Couldn’t believe my luck to start again with Flutter on the very day I had my Pacemaker clinic and everything was fine.
