Rivaroxaban/anti-depressants

Hello, I am on Rivaroxaban for my afib, apparently I tolerate it well as my bloods were fine. Getting afib/palpations gave me anxiety and now I have been prescribed escitalopram and of course I searched the internet and come up with the worst. Having health anxiety multiplies how bad I think side effects will be. Anyone on this sort of meds. I mean surely my doctor would know what I am on before introducing the antidepressant. I will post in the anxiety forum as well.

Hello :-)

I have health anxiety to and one of my anxiety I have is a med fear and then to find you need to take a cocktail of meds well it does not mix with the anxiety very well at all

I am like you I look on Google and by the time I have finished I have made myself 100 times worse , I know this yet I still do it and after ask myself why ?

I would hope your Doctor knows what you are taking they should do but if you have not already found out then either try and get to talk to them and ask or phone your pharmacists as they know what tablets you can take together

I hope you may have got is sorted by now and you had a nice Christmas :-) x

Hey, I took the antidepressant and I think cause I freaked myself out at the same time I got major anxiety. So stopped it and went back to the doctor who told me that the combination is fine. She gave me a lower dose which I haven’t started yet, but here’s hoping 2024 is a good/better year for all of us ;-)

Hello :-)

A lower dose sounds like a good place to start :-)

One way I managed to take my medications with my anxiety is by telling myself I just have to take them today seems to help somehow :-)

All the best for the New Year :-) x
