Pacemaker delay

Hi, My husband had a cardioversion on the 10th November, his heart has been in AF for years.

A pacemaker appointment was then made for the 5th December, he has now just had a phone call to say that because he had the cardioversion he cannot have the pacemaker fitted. I got the impression it was something to do with the rivaroxaban.

Has anyone had a similar experience. The phone call cancelling next weeks procedure was right on 5pm so we're unable to contact his heart failure nurse for advise. They said someone will be in touch. Very concerned about being left in limbo.

Any info greatly appreciated. Thank you .

Someone saying they will be in touch and actually doing so are two different things. I would follow up immediately and find out the why's and wherefores otherwise we start drifting towards Christmas when things get even slower.

Thank you, I’ve left a message on their answer phone.

Good, but they won't necessarily phone back. Please phone at different times and try to catch them if you don't hear anything back in the next day.
