I have recently been diagnosed with heart failure. I have been put on2 sorts of diuretics and beta blockers. I have a really bad cough with frothy white phlegm. The meds have not resolved this, anyone else have this?

Hello :-)

I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis but there is so much they can do now a days so I hope you will stay positive :-)

Did you have the cough before you started the meds or has this started since been put on the meds ?

Even though I have not had this myself I would speak with my doctor or you could give the BHF Nurses a ring and see what they think you should do

Let us know how you get on :-) x

Hi I’m sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I have H/F. When I get up usually I cough up all kinds I’ve been told when I’m asleep I gurgle so I put it down to that. When my fluid levels are high it’s worse. I also put it down to other things I have going on.

Like Bekind says speak to your doctor or BHF nurse and hopefully they can help. Please let us know how you get on. All the best D
