Does anyone else experience dizziness when taking Bisoprolol?
Bisoprolol: Does anyone else experience... - British Heart Fou...
Bisoprolol
It’s hard to say for sure as I started taking a few things at the same time but it’s either the Bisoprolol or the Isosorbide Mononitrate, or a combination, that makes me dizzy.
Recently on a visit to the hospital for an appointment I took a pause and held onto a rail. I noticed a staff member discreetly keeping an eye on me.
That’s one to fill you with confidence!
Hi Redman.I was taking bisoprolol until very recently, for nearly 2 years post op. I was experiencing dizziness, nearly fainting and breathlessness. The dizziness seems to have stopped, but still breathless, so that is probably something else.
I was convinced that bisoprolol was also responsible for my weight gain since the op, but no sign of improvement there, yet!
Hello
I am sure this is something a lot complain about when taking this med
I take it and get dizzy spells had to have the dosage lowered which still works but I still get a little dizzy but nothing I cannot cope with
If you are finding it to hard and it is to bad then I would speak with my Doctor and see what they can suggest they can do x
Only if I stand up too quickly. It does lower blood pressure, so that could do it?
I take bisoprolol and have had dizzyness, I have had the dose lowered and it has helped. I tried to get of it and try Neviprolol but my GP wouldn't prescribe it. So I am stuck on it. My main complaint is the tiredness I get from it.
Yes !
Thanks for all your comments, most appreciated☺️
In my experience it dropped my heart rate too low below 50 beats per minute which might be your problem. If it is doing that it can cause problems. My GP reduced my dosage and I've had no problems since. Hope you get sorted.
Yes! My dose was too high so the hospital lowered it as I had bradycardia. Once the dose was halved I was ok
Hi, I really struggled when I first started taking bisoprolol. Dizzy, lightheaded, extremely tired and cold hands and feet. It took a good few months for things to settle for me .
Forgot to say - I was advised to take it at nighttime so most of the effects where lessened by the time I woke up
Yes Bisoprolol can and does cause dizziness. It’s I think due to the fact it lowers blood pressure among other things. Sometimes reducing the dosage helps but you must only do this under the supervision of your doctor. Remember when taking this medication to take things easy especially when getting up from a lying or sitting position. Sitting on the edge of the bed for a minute or two can settle your blood pressure enough so that you can then stand up. Just be very careful not to jump up suddenly as you can black out. Take care Hopefully once you are established on this medication the dizziness will stop. It takes a while for the substances in the medication to react and mix within your body. The bottom line is always consult your doctor at any point if you feel unwell. Take care
Yeah I get dizzy/ light headed spells every night my heart rate normally crashes at the same time
I was on 2.5mg of bisoprolol after being told i had lvh but they stopped it due to constant dizzy spells and a low heart rate of 30. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with bradycardia so its still in the mid 40s now even after being off the meds.
I found it very common when taking Bisoprolol. Mentioned it to cardiologist and he explained that it will pass and after about 6 to 8 weeks it did especially going from 1.25mg to 5mg but usually your body will get use to it, I hope this helps.
