New to all this and looking for information and reassurance ....
Twelve months ago I was fit/active /exercising/ still working care free person, looking forward to overseas travel all that stopped and changed with Afib diagnosis.
I had an Echo scan May 23 - showed MVR mild/ aortic valve normal, no regurgitation . aeortic root -normal. I had another scan 2 weeks ago in preparation for an Ablation, the results were different=
Now this....Aeortic valve is now mild sclerotic , with mild regurge. Clutching at straws maybe- but can this be improved/get better in any way.
I had just about processed and got my head around the Afib and MVR , now I am anxious and upset to find things seem to have progressed deteriorated so quickly reference the aortic valve in 10 months!. I have been in afib four times in the past year for a matter of hours, always Cardioverted back on the same day. Life has been on hold for me as not confident to go away, been suffering G.I post H Pylori gastric pain for nearly a year, lost three stone- very cloud! still waiting for PIP from GP ,so no AF control and on PF ablation list.
My motor home hunt has stopped , now savings stored now for potential Private H.C Lost my spark and feel overwhelmed with it all........

Take a look at York cardiologist on YouTube he has a video on echo results and explains how they are quite subjective. Also the more tests you have the more likely they are to find variations on the norm but that doesn't necessarily mean it is significant in terms of risk to your long term health. If it's any consultation I have had both aortic regurgitation and stenosis and mitral regurgitation show on echo's as mild to moderate for 20 years and been told nothing to be concerned about.
Thank you for replying. I am reeling with everything from the last 12 months, health research has taken over my life, which has stopped. I have watched some of Dr Gupta's videos will check out the ones on Echocardiograms....
I was diagnosed with aortic valve regurgitation approx 6 yrs ago, all proceeded ok at subsequent annual screens then told this year problem had deteriorated massively. Severely Stenotic etc. valve v heavily calcified. Had replacement tissue valve in Feb . Private couldn't wait . Can recommend a very good consultant surgeon if you need...he was excellent and took time to listen to my needs. Seems that these problems deteriorate extremely quickly once in your 50s.
Thank you. What part of the country is Surgeon please? All this is so frightening, I knew something would get me, but thought It might be in another 20-30 years! Been well, apart from the H Pylori Gastritis making it's evil presence felt.
