Call to HF Nurse on Monday

Last time I saw Heart Nurse she said to give her a call should anything change well, my BP has gone down a bit 86/42 hr67 that was at mid day just took it again now at 4pm, up to 103/53 and HR come down to 57 so looks ok now lol. It is good to have a Heart Nurse contact to go over things when you have a change so it looks like a Monday call. Anyone else with HF have varying BP readings without a change in symptoms i.e. no alarm over symptoms just a change in readings !!!

Regards

Sorry I can’t help Prada, but I do hope others with heart failure come along to help with the low BP readings. Just as a side note, it is normal for BP to fluctuate throughout the day and is not always a cause for concern.

All the best.

Hi my BP is usually 102/73 sometimes it goes 97/68 and I usually end up feeling light headed so I drink water. My doc laughed saying I have too much fluid so I add even more to get my blood pressure up. My cardiologist told me that 102 shouldn’t go under 100 because then it’s too low but he as no suggestions if it does go under 100. They said they just want it to stay low but around 110 or 120 the highest. If that all makes sense. My heart rate is always 70. I’m not sure if the device is programmed for that. I had an AVnode ablation.

I take my blood pressure readings at the GP surgery on their device in the waiting room which hopefully is regularly calibrated. I try to do this early morning and on the same arm every time and take 3 readings using the lowest as a record. My fluctuations are less than yours and I am usually around 100/60 with HR around 65. Last reading two days ago was 105/66 HR 73. I was on a weeks walking holiday 7 days before and still benefitting from the extra exercise. As well as my 6 HF medications I am currently on a reducing dose of Prednisolone (corticosteroid) to recover from Polymyalgia Rheumatica which hit me in March after a dose of flu or could have been Covid (not tested) caught on a group holiday probably from one of the others. Not sure at the moment what the additional medication is doing to my HF cocktail but having regular blood tests to monitor it all. I tend to go on how I am feeling and how much exercise I can manage rather than the BP readings. We sound to be in fairly similar condition and similar age group. My Bio gives more detail.
