have had icd fitted 8 years ago; did rehab at hospital +returned 2 normal after about a year or so.

Was very pleased with developments-gym +swimming etc. at that point.

Was re admitted 2 hospital in 2020-heart problem +on release -told 2 take it easy .

Tried the cardio dvd -which i do this exercise daily --but despite my efforts 2 increase walking etc.--i am plagued with this bloody breathlessness --after many chats with gp +cardio nurse -they keep telling me im on correct meds---doesnt feel correct 2 me when im our of breath not having done anything..

Can anyone offer any practical advice ?--these so called health professionals just fob me off +im left with this constant problem .

Hi there, really sorry to hear that you are still not feeling fab . I’ve recently had quadruple bypass and been recovering the past 4 weeks , increasing my walking up to 5km with some efforts thrown in. During the first two weeks I obviously had to build up and take it easy , I also found that I was quite breathless just trying to talk . I was in a lot of pain in a my chest , I put it down to that . I also had an infection in my chest wound. Blood tests came back to show I was still anaemic post op, some of the symptoms included breathless, cold , tiredness.. I was prescribed iron tablets , still taking them every other day. I definitely feel better and have progressed . It might be something to pursue . I’ve also had my bisoprol reduced now from 3.75 to 1.25, the higher dose was awful , like a sedative with loads of side effects.. feeling much better .

Check out any meds that you are on for side effects. Stick with your intuition and keep pushing and asking your medical team. I found the GP surgery to be lacking in specific cardio knowledge, I went to my Doc as I had heavy fatigue over a number of months , I was struggling to do my farm chores and my weight lifting routine , most unlike me. I was falling asleep in the afternoons , so tired. Some days just shuffling up to the yard .. they tested thyroid , B12 & testosterone.. all normal. I had a heart attack 6 weeks later , the cardio team said the fatigue was a huge clue that was missed.

Good morning happyhours. I think you need to keep going back until you get a referral for more investigation. I know its hard work knocking your head against a brick wall. I have a pacemaker and recently been struggling with a knee problem affecting my mobility and ended up getting more breathless. Can't do anything in the garden without getting breathless quickly. I have been told its heart related so waiting for an appointment to check my pacemaker settings. Hope you get some help and answers soon. Brian
