Tachycardia, exercise and exhaustion

Start at the beginning, Oct 2022, was getting chest pain and pain in my left arm, and diagnosed with angina, and sent home. Letter of referral sent of the nhs Scotland, and as of 4 June, Im still waiting.

Next few months, Oct - Feb, I was pretty much, unable to go out for long periods with out feeling more unwell. By mid Feb, my health has slowly improved, and joined the gym, and began to exercise, 4-5 days per week. Starting of at a slow pace, and I thought making progress.

By Apr, I began to experience a number of arrythmias, or as I knew them palpitations, and some weeks, my life was un-barrable. I purchased ecg monitor, and now wear this on a regular basis, while I wait to see a cardiologist. I dont know know what is a unsafe figure for arrythmias, but there been times, where the ecg monitor has recorded 9,000 PACS in a 8 hour period

Now to my main question, which is about a tachycardia rhythm, and what might cause it. Right now in my life, I struggle when walking, and even in my work, by the end of my shift I'm exhausted. I have only recently gone back out cycling, and started cycling small distances

When cycling, and at a good pace, I have no issues with my heart like any arrythmias, and for cycling at 11mph, expect my heart rate to be around 130 bpm. But the minute I home, and sitting and resting the arrythmias came back.

I feel with my legs, there are circulation problems, as I always get muscular pain in my calfs and feet

So when I have been out walking, and its at a slow pace, all of a sudden my heart rate is up, to around 120, and on a few occasions it gets to 145 bpm. A few times I have felt light headed, and most time, I get out of breath. When I sit down, my heart rate quickly lowers its self to a more what I would expect, 85 - 90 bmp

My diet has changed, since Oct, and no longer drink caffeine drinks, and mostly drink water, along with the odd bottle of orange juice

Hi Fitbit- Joe

I noticed you said you go to the gym 4-5 days a week, I also go to the gym but my consultant said to go one day then rest two days, Are you resting in between days? I also noticed you said you get pain in your legs and feet I get that also all the time and always feel exhausted. Have you been diagnosed with Tachycardia or are you still waiting? I have ventricular Tachycardia which makes me feel light headed alot even on verapamil 40mg. Sorry about all the questions and sounds like you have a lot going on and need answers and I hope you get them 😉.

Take care! ☺️

Dear Fitbit-Joe

Sorry to tell you but you should contact your Dr urgent and chase up your appointment, for the symptoms you are presenting to us needs seriously checking out and I for one cannot believe the wait you have had.

I have read your other posts in HU and it is obvious that your someone that knows and understands their body with the level of the fitness you maintain.

What I cannot understand is why you have waited so long, please chase them today or phone 111 and present your symptoms to them and follow their instructions.

I am sorry to tell you that it seems that you have fallen out from the net and need an urgent check up.

I don't mean to worry you in anyway but this needs addressing now .

Take care and please keep us informed.

My doctor is keep in the loop with regard any tachycardia rhythms, and any other symptoms the happen, like getting out of breath, or light headed. This also includes what I was doing prior to this, and what I did afterwards, which meant my heart rate went back to normal

This information has been passed on to the hospital, on request for an emergency referral, but because it not been life threatening, this is not an emergency. Even though my heart rate is going into a tachycardia rhythm, for a period Im not left with any ill affects afterwards

I have already lodge a complaint with my nhs health trust, on the waiting times, and would have expected to have been seen. I received a phone call from a senior nurse, who explained the delays, like covid, back-log of patients, staff shortages, strike actions

I asked about the emergency referral, and why I was refused an appointment, and the reason, you have to be in a life threatening position. Currently I have now been waiting 35 weeks, and current waiting times is around 38 weeks, so hopefully I dont have long to wait
