Smaller dose Clopidrogrel

hi. I know only dose Clopidrogrel is 75mg for ongoing treatment (after mini stroke) however I’ve been taken off it temporarily due to severe nose bleeds with a view to restarting when nose fixed… however ENT can’t do anything. I’m slim female 5’6” and get same dose as someone 6 foot 5 and 20 stone. I had asked Cardio if half tablet would work but it’s just not been researched so it’s one size fits all. (However it’s not been researched about cutting up tablet or crushing it to swallow for those that can’t. But I was reassured by hospital pharmacist that they have to do that off licence for folk in hospital that are unable to swallow etc. ). I would only ever do what my cardio tells me but I was wondering if there was anyone else that was on smaller dose that had been advised by their doctors, so I can speak to cardio more about it. Quite frightened to go back on it after recent experience and being on my own in the house.

Hello :-)

These extra strong blood thinners even though I was on Ticagrelor did the same to me and I ended up at A&E as well as having my nose cauterized 3 times while I was on them but what kept me going even though not easy was knowing eventually I would be able to stop them

Are you on them for good or have they said eventually you can come of them at some stage

I do feel for you if you are at home on your own I had my Husband and still it was bad enough and can understand your worry but you know you can always phone 111 or 999 if they get that bad they will not stop

I would talk with my cardiologist or Doctor and let them know ENT say they cannot do anything but you cannot keep suffering like this either and what alternatives can they offer

Please let us know how you get on :-) x
