Safeguarding Adults

I have been living in a overcrowded b&b accommodation in Uxbridge since past 16 months. I have no easy access to cooking, shower, laundries. I am a disabled person there's no elevator in this house, there are about 40 or more tenants living in this unsuitable place. The bus stop and transport is far, I am suffering from significant various life threatening illnesses .

My mental and physical health is debilitating not able to adhere with my treatment care plan. I I feel deprived, isolated, depressed, hopeless, tearful with the wilful neglect approach from Hillingdon housing department. There's literally zero emotional and practical support from local independent organisations. However there are plenty adapted and non adapted properties available

Also plenty emotional, practical support and ofcourse safeguarding are highly available to people from Ukraine.

Almost all local independent charities keep signposting me from each others, this causes me exhaustion. It's like going around the circle. There's literally no emotional and practical support for vulnerable disabled people in Uxbridge. Apparently Hillingdon mind provides "recovery action care plan" however

it seems like, they cherry pick there client.

I sympathise with your plight.

But don't blame your challenges on the brave people of the Ukraine, they haven't brought any troubles to your door.

Ofcourse everyone life matters not only for people from Ukraine. Thank you

Sorry to hear how you feel neglected Lumi. The people from Ukraine were invited to come to our country and the rest of Europe temporarily, while their country is under attack from bombing. May I ask what your situation is? I'm afraid I know nothing about the Uxbridge area.

Could you get any support from your GP and have you managed to get a downstairs room at the B&B? Are you saying that you don't get offered any food other than breakfast?

I'm so sorry to hear that you are getting little help, do you have a social worker who could put your case forward?

As you no doubt know, at the moment all of our hospitals are stretched to breaking point as so many people need medical advice/help and numbers have shot up because of covid causing the cancellation of appointments . I myself have been waiting almost a year for some treatment.

There is a distinct lack of social housing, or properties to rent in the area where I live and I feel really sorry for the young people of today who can't find or afford a home in the area where they have lived all their lives. It is not a good time for our country and sadly people who need help may have to wait a long time.

I wish I had some magic words to help you, but I'm afraid I don't.

Best wishes.

Jean

You seem lucky enough to have access to the internet .This being the case you can search for organisations that may be able to help you .For example the Citizens Advice Bureau. Also there are various health organisations that offer advice and help if you suffer from one of their illnesses. try tele. them . There are outside organisations that may help your social life such as the U3a if you are 50 plus years. The Citizens advice may also be able to put you in touch with groups that may enhance your mental state.

I live in Uxbridge, citizen advice bureau works for the councils. Other citizen advice bureau are doing an excellent job for the local Resident.

Are you from the Samaritans? Lol Anyway Thank you

I would suggest you contact Hillingdon Social Services, Adult Services Department who cover the Uxbridge area who may be able to do an assessment of your needs for your physical and mental health wellbeing. Your GP may be able to make a referral for you.

Oh I am so sorry for this awful situation you are in. You might be better going back to GP who might be able to help and arrange support. Do you have a social worker ? Do you also have some safeguarding in place for yourself? I'm not an expert but I it's good you have reached out and people do care and you're in an awful situation. You have to make clear what you want. Also ensure you keep on taking any prescribed medication . Good luck

I suggest you contact Shelter. They are very helpful and can represent you on the housing front.
