PVC's anyone?...

Hi all, after OH surgery in November and a few problems with Afib after, I have been doing fine until Monday when I felt odd palpitations and felt usual light headed and out of sorts. I thought it would be AFib again but on checking on the Kardiamobile it showed as Premature Ventricular Contractions which I've never seen. This has continued for past 4 days and whilst assured by the cardio rehab nurse it's not considered serious, it is restricting. I know there are many out there suffering much worse symptoms than me, but just wondered if anyone has had these and if they come and go? Thanks

Thanks for the reply. At first I thought my god 10000+ ectopic beats in 24hours, then calculated mine to be similar! I do get dizzy, particularly when getting up from sitting or lying down, but just now take it more slowly. But no pains or shortness of breath. So I guess just wait and hope they disappear on their own.

Hi Pilgrim2, I started having PVC late last year after *recovering* from a bout of Covid. I had suffered from AF previously and had an ablation to get me off the bisoprolol drug which was killing my energy levels. The PVCs were especially obvious when lying down. I had them checked by a cardiologist who said "not to worry". Easy for him to say, not so easy when you feel your heart jumping about in your chest. Anyway, no solution was proposed so I thought I'll just have to learn to live with them. Then one day, for no obvious reason, they were no longer present! They lasted about 3 months. Thought that my story might offer a little light at the end of the tunnel.

Yes absolutely with you on the last point - keep going and live life to the max until you can't!

I had episodes of atrial flutter after OHS and saw an Electrophysiologist. He told me that when they do OHS they cut through nerves in the heart which disrupts our electrical impulses but that they repair. It might just be this but if you are at all concerned give the cardiac team a call. Nobody will criticise you for getting checked out and sometimes we all need a bit of reassurance. X

Thanks for your reply. It may be just part of the healing process, but odd it has come on after 4 months. But I do have a consultant appt in 2 weeks so will raise then if still a problem.
