Chest pain

So if already diagnosed with heart failure etc and on medication is it normal to still have chest discomfort? And the occasional pain, not crippling but mild pain. The reason I'm asking is that some advice is to always seek medical help with chest pain but I don't want to waste anyone's time! I usually just think if it's anything serious it will get worse!

hi if you have new chest pain / discomfort (whatever intensity) yes you should seek medical advice. Never a waste of time. It’s worth it to put your mind at rest as a minimum or maybe your meds might need tweaking? Good luck.

Hello :-)

You will never be wasting anyone's time we know our own bodies the best and they would rather see us and give us the all clear than not see us and something goes wrong

If you feel anything is different and you are not sure then phone 111 and speak with someone or if you can wait till next week speak with your Doctors

Let us know how you get on :-) x

Hi, my hubby still gets chest pains 15 months after ha with hf. He asked the gp for a referral back to the cardiologist just to get it checked out. He recently got a letter saying the waiting list is 45 weeks. Anyway he (with a little encouragement from me) has decided to pay for a private consultation. My point is, don't wait, get it checked out, better to be safe than sorry. Good luck.

Hi guineacat. You definitely should seek medical advice and if you can’t get a doctors appointment dial 111. Any chest pain should be checked out urgently.

Hello, I ditto all above - seek advice it’s far too important!!

As an anecdote I will share that my partner with long-standing HF (no known angina) has a chronic discomfort/pressure/pain right central too his chest, maybe like a palm size.

Often maybe a bit worse at night/morning.

He jokes sometimes - you slept on me again last night.

His cardiologists say it’s unlikely to be from his heart but my partner still feels it is (maybe the damaged part of the heart muscle somehow?!). For now he has been referred to the pain management clinic where I don’t hold much hope. He can absolutely live and tolerate it so more pills is not the solution for him.

Again, do speak with your doctor, you and your health are important and fingers crossed you get help. Take care

I've been in discomfort all day today in my left breast area it feels muscular? I also have fibromyalgia so who knows? Thank you for all your comments

I had a HA last may and have chest pain asinine walking or slight excursion. Seems to be muscular as Gtn spray makes no difference. Not sure theirs anyway they can change this.

was the pain there after starting the cocktail of meds or before you started meds? Just curious.
