OK here's todays curve ball, probably 10-12 hours after my procedure I woke with a pain in my right leg between knee and thigh. It went away but just felt numb so thought I had slept weird as unable to really move. A week down the line it's still there but almost unnoticeable except when I lay flat at bedtime when it tingles/burns.
The thing is when on the table I got 300 units(?) of amiodarone through a drip and a further full bag of 900 over 24 hours, which I might add burnt the hell out of my veins. Additionally I now have 200mg/day in tablet.
A bit of searching reveals an amiodarone side effect of peripheral neuropathy which I think is almost certainly what I have. The question is, has anyone else had this and found a way to limit/stop the effects? CCU say I need to speak to my GP but quite honestly I don't really want him messing with my meds yet so would like to throw him some options.

I think you should consult your GP asap. Amiodarone can have some very serious side effects. I had it for about 6 months many years ago with no side effects at all, but a friend was not so fortunate recently. She now has pulmonary fibrosis as a result of 5 months of Amiodarone following an atrial valve replacement. I believe anyone who is prescribed this drug should be warned about the possible side effects. There is no need to put the fear of God into someone, but they should be alerted to the possibilities.
