Morning all.My heart rate seems a lot lower than it used to be pre flutter ablation last May.According to my watch it drops to 40 at night and resting watching TV,reading etc 50.I have recently increased my BP meds from 50mg to 75 mg although it was dropping before this.Im waiting for a 24 hour monitor but my local hospital never received the request from St Thomas's so I've had to start a other long wait again. My question is am I worrying for nothing,my exercise level seems to have dropped a bit too. Thanks for reading.

Get it checked out, as you are planning to, but if you are not getting any related symptoms then personally I would try not to worry about it - I had a similar resting HR for many years which my Cardiologist put down to my fitness (it also runs in the family). Since a successful (so far) ablation for AFib last September my resting HR is now 5-10 higher.
The advice is good, last reply but I wouldn’t take the readings on these watches are accurate, my cardiologist told me to take it off, as I was having readings between 30-40 beats and I was really concerned. I’ve had AF for over 12 yrs, you do get use to controlling it and good luck .
Mine is the same. It's like that for many people especially fit and active people. Normal.
