Hi all seen my cardiologist yesterday and did a treadmill test had to stop after about 4 minutes as started getting angina, palpitations, felt ill and had to lay down, cardiologist said there are definitely changes and it is getting worse, I knew it was getting worse as symptoms was increasing. Cardiologist has upped some medication and stopped one, I am seeing him again in 3 weeks to see if meds are working, so basically are the meds just keeping me going? I have just done a lasting power of attorney just in case. Let's carry on with the every day struggles of this awful disease ❤❤❤❤❤

Hello Shellac,

I am sorry that your microvascular angina is getting worse.

How did your Cardiologist diagnose your microvascular angina?

Has your Cardiologist also considered whether your stents are still working okay?

Microvascular angina is a complex condition and can take sometime to find the best combination of medication that will help you best.

One of the triggers of my vasospastic angina is the cold. So I have much more chest pain at the moment.

Our non obstructive coronary artery disease can certainly have a negative effect on our quality of life.

I am not sure that anybody who doesn't live with microvascular or vasospastic angina can truly understand just how challenging living with these conditions can be.

I hope the medication changes help and do keep warm.

hi I’m sorry you are feeling worse at the moment. I also have stents and have microvascular disease. It took a long time to get the right medication for me but since changing from beta blockers to calcium channel blockers my symptoms have significantly reduced and although I still get occasional chest pain followed by exhaustion this only happens now intermittently and triggered by stress doing too much and the cold. Generally now I am able to have a normal life and can even exercise. So for me it was a case if getting on the right medication. I hope the same for you. Take care and keep warm.

4 minutes is something many of us could only aspire to! seriously, they know you are getting worse so presumably this will set more treatment in progress. Has anything else changed in recent times?

For instance stress due to a house move or new job, a change in diet, putting on weight etc?

Well, you are stuck with that for at least another 5 years! Seriously, strees and anxiety can have a big impact on health. Whether your current problem, is physical or linked to stress etc presumably further tests will discover, but in the meantime are you in a position to try calming techniques?
