left ventricle failure

First diagnosed my heart was operating at 25% going on second year of meds heart functioning at 85% so I guess it is working

But my cardiologist didn’t tell me what was wrong with me when I was I initially diagnosed he didn’t tell me I wasn’t going to get better. So for a year I took meds thinking it was a temporary thing well when I found out this is permanent and the meds are keeping my heart functioning

I applied for disablity now I am fighting the system but had I applied befor meds I would have met the criteria for ss bike book mi was so mad . Yes I’m stupid but I never been sick in by life so how was I to know

You’re not stupid at all, just uninformed by the sound of things.

Maybe see if you can get the paperwork from your doctor to provide as evidence that this is what is keeping your heart functioning as the condition you have hasn’t just gone away.

It might be worth trying to call them to understand more about the criteria and what support is available to you.

I hope you can get some help with this.

Best wishes, Soap 🙂

Dear Lcajunheat

If your heart is now functioning at 85% then I can't understand why you would consider yourself to be disabled? have you been told by your cardiologist that they consider you to be disabled ?

By 85% do you mean your EF? if so then that is an excellent score especially going from 25% only a year ago.

Maybe if you can give us some more information about your illness we will be able to point you towards the benefits that you maybe entitled to.

Sure you maybe on medication for the rest of your life but that doesn't mean that its over, if anything you should be feeling a lot better with those results, but you have to remember that I am not medically trained.

Take care

PS So Sorry I have just read your Bio and didn't realise that you are in America, you may have a totally different scale of disability claim than we do due to the way your medical insurance works, but at lest our hearts work the same and I would be very pleased if I had your score after a year on medication.
