I think that if it is genuinely EVO, it might be. Which I realise is not terribly helpful, but different studies seem to give different answers, and it probably depends on the rest of your diet.
I would think it highly unlikely. Just make it part of a healthy Mediterranean diet and don't forget the Omega3 and Omega6 within food rather than supplements.
Dear George249
Not sure what you mean by an extra dose, a spoonful? taken neat? or a coating on a nice salad? dipping with bread and balsamic vinegar ?.
As all things a little of what you fancy will not harm you, as for its benefits well there has been mountains of paperwork for and against this amazing liquid.
Like Heythrop51 I also think that the Omega family is far more important.
Take care
Hi George - I don't know whether it's beneficial for 'heartie' things, but it certainly helps with diverticular disease! For years I've been taking a big tablespoonful daily if I have a flare-up and, aside from Yakult, it's the only thing that helps. I had a triple-bypass in February this year and asked the cardiac nurse if it would be okay to continue to take EVO like this. She said it certainly wouldn't do me any harm but didn't know whether it had an extra benefit for heart rehab issues. She also screwed her face up and said "Yuck - how on earth do you drink it like that!". I'm lucky I suppose - I actually love the taste of it.🤣😋
