You need to get medical attention ASAP, go to your nearest hospital and get looked at or phone it and see what you need to do.

Poppy lives with Microvascular angina a poorly understood and very challenging type of angina to live with.

I suggest you have a look at this thread.

Poppy

I acknowledge you are in a difficult place at the moment, however please do look at the responses given to your previous post.

Am I missing something here? This lady has said she lost her gtn spray and asked what she should do. Now she is saying she has chest, arm and jaw pain and again is asking what she should do. Lots of people have kindly made suggestions but she just ignores them. I don’t understand why she asks or doesn't answer people when they ask what she has done to help herself. The same thing was going on 6 months ago. I just don’t get it.

Poppy lives with microvascular angina.I live with vasospastic angina another type of angina without obstructed coronary arteries.

Both microvascular and vasospastic angina are often overlooked and undiagnosed. They are very challenging types of angina to live with. The only treatment option is with medication, that doesn't always help that much.

Typically patients turn up at A&E, ECGs are either normal or have subtle changes, troponin blood levels only slightly raised.

Patients get sent home with a false reassurance ' there is nothing wtong with your heart'

My coronary vasospasms feel like being in labour. My coronary arteries are clear. They just go into transient contrictions causing a lack of blood supply to my heart. These are easily missed on an ECG.

I have had my IV GTN abruptly turned off by a doctor telling me incorrectly that I couldn't have angina or a heart attack.

As a group of patients we are often dismissed and not believed.

It's actually quite difficult in this situation to a challenge the system.

So we just stay at home in pain rather than go into hospital.

Thank you for your reply Milk Fairy, I am aware of this ladies condition. I just don’t know why she asks what she should do. She knows what she should do but chooses not to. She has every right to be checked over in A and E to be on the safe side with those symptoms. Lots of people endure the horrible pain that they presume is acid reflux or indigestion only to find they’ve had a heart attack.

What do you do if everytime you seek help, because the staff do not understand your condition your experience of care is so poor that you end up with PTSD?

This is the choice that some patients who live with microvascular and vasospastic angina face.

Get yourself to a and e or gp today and a referral to see a cardiologist

I give up. It still doesn’t answer the question as to why she is asking a public forum as to what she should do. This is my final post on this matter. Hope you find what you are looking for Poppy.

Because this is a peer to peer support group.Perhaps she feels there is nowhere else to go?

Perhaps all she wants is someone to listen with compassion rather than judgment.

Maybe just looking for a sympathetic answer. No harm in repeating requests we all sometimes just need reassurance

I think you must know you need to get yourself to A and E. Your symptoms are classic examples of a heart attack and you need to either get that confirmed or reassure yourself that it is something different.

Your first message was some hours ago so hopefully you have already been to hospital and had an encouraging result

Hi Poppy. You must take notice of the lovely and supporting comments here. Please don't try anything again to harm yourself. A and E is where you should be. Please respond so we know you've done something positive. Lots of love. Jan xxxx

Hello Poppy :-)

I hope as it is now Monday you managed to get that spray sorted out and maybe ask for a spare one so hopefully you do not run out again

I am sorry I cannot help regarding your Angina as I know little about it but as I have said Milkfairy who has had lots of experience with all this is someone to listen to and take advice from :-) x
