I am not long out of hospital, and all I did was phone GP for a water tablet!!!! Came out with one new stent, unknown heart attack and stage 3 heart failure and permalloy low blood pressure and heart disease
wow what a few days that was! Now my head is spinning. I am a single mum of 2 teenagers whom both have additional support needs and I am honestly gasping for air in more ways than one!!

It shows what can happen when asking for something simple from your GP
But see this as a positive you would maybe have never known you had this going wrong if you had not made that call and because you did you were caught in plenty of time to put things right and get the treatment you needed
Your head will be spinning it takes a while to get your head round all this but you will in time
You now have somewhere to come and talk and I hope you will feel you are not alone dealing with what has happened and the positive feedback you will get I hope will show you this is not the end but a new beginning x
Gosh what a lot to take on board in such a short space of time. And at such a young age. No wonder you are spinning. Many here will have had similar, or maybe different experiences and/ but will recognise that spinny feeling. I know I do.
Sounds important that you have found a platform/ community to sound off to, ask questions of and connect with. Hope you find that useful.
And hope you are having good medical care and support as you recover from your procedure and adapt to the changes that follow.
I know it probably doesn’t seem like it but you’ve had a positive result - if I’d asked my doctor for a water tablet I’d have come away with a water tablet 😊 These health issues were happening and at least now you know and have started treatment which is a good thing. I’m a single dad (of 4) but only 2 teenagers now thankfully and I understand the stress of discovering that all isn’t how you would want your health to be when you know your jobs not done and you have to keep everything ticking over - it’s stressful and stress needs to be handled well - try to relax and pull your family close as even teenagers can be remarkably supportive (yep you heard that right) - if you read the stories on here from some wonderful people you realise you’re not alone and you’re not at the end of the road - wishing you the best of luck and chin up 👍
Welcome to the forum, I too went to my GP as my feet were swollen thinking she would give me water tablets she sent for an ambulance! Had 7 weeks in hospital while they got the fluid off me, before being transferred to heart hospital for surgery. Aortic valve replaced and bypass! That was 6 years ago. When we have any heart issues it’s as if the ground opens up under our feet, can’t believe it’s happening to us. It’s as if our life flies out of the window and this new life flies in, and that’s what does happen, we have drugs to take our diet to watch GP appointments to check our progress, this is the new normal and it takes time to get our heads round it! but if you read the posts from the forum members there are so many different heart problems that we encounter, but with the right treatment we can continue with our lives. As I said it’s 6 years since my surgery but there is never a day goes by when I am not grateful to the medical team that gave me my life back.
You are now being looked after, being monitored. It will take time to get your head round what as happened but you will get there.
Remember you are now a member of the Hearties family if you have any questions just post and someone will be along to try and help. Or if you you need a shoulder to lean on we can do that too.
