I’d be most grateful for any information regarding using Q10 to help mitigate muscle and joint pain due to Statin intolerance. Particulary dosage level.
Many thanks.

Q10. ? I am not sure that is approved for use. I have many problems with statins but just keep trying for one that suits me
Like Red Rice Yeast I am convinced they do nothing but empty your wallet. How many statins gave you tried? A simple change such as Atorvastatin to Simvastatin may cure any issues.
The science clearly shows that statins reduce the level of coenzyme Q10 in the serum. What is less clear is whether taking coenzyme Q10 as a dietary supplement actually helps muscle pain or energy levels. There are several studies that show no effect, but some that suggest it reduces muscle pain eg. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/303.... I cannot see that taking some Q10 will do any harm (other than to your bank balance - it's not cheap!), so I take it just in case it does some good. One 100mg capsule daily. I feel it improves my energy level. I don't suffer from muscle pain, so I cannot comment on that but everyone is different. so it may work for you.
I suffer with muscle and joint pains, but I am not on statins. Mine seems to be a recently developed food intolerance. I would avoid Q10 if you are on any other meds.
I am not a doctor by any means... but my personal experience... I take COQ10 with my statin every day, and it has helped. I have no muscle pain, but we all react to meds differently.
My cardiologist recommended taking them to help with reduced energy - I wasn’t even aware that they might offset side effects from Statins. She did say it’s important to buy the fat soluble ones and I take 200mg a day (one capsule), and I get mine from Healthspan.
This link looks quite basic and does not explain in a complicated fashion: webmd.com/vitamins/ai/ingre...
There is an almost identical recent post concerning Q10 and statins here

My advice, before taking anything that may interfere with your medication, is to first discuss with it your GP. As far as statins go there are a number of different statins available for medics to prescribe and if one produces side effects others may not and so a change may be appropriate. Which is another good reason to go talk to your GP.
I take a 50 mg Q10 capsule every day. Just the bog standard type from Boots. I find it helps a lot with my energy levels. I'm taking 20mg Atorvastatin. I don't know whether it is supposed to help with muscle pain, I don't think so.
My wife takes Q10 with her statin, and she does not have the muscle cramps etc any more.
