If you have an Apple iPhone then the iwatch is excellent. I use all the fitness and health heart function. Downside it is expensive

Dear Huwhuw

The market leader and one of the most accurate is as gileid1 one has already said, the i watch, but please remember that these are a guide and a guide only for your DR/Cardiologist to act on.

There is a problem at the moment with a lot of home measurements that are sending people to the A&E in a panic.

If after taking various measurements { and found out the average }and something appears wrong or you feel ill { not because of what you have read } then phone 111.

The first thing they will talk you through is how to take another measurement, sitting properly breathing properly etc, believe me its so easy to rush a measurement after the novelty has worn off and you are trying to get on with your normal life, they will then guide you through the next stage if needed.

Take care and use these things for your benefit and not to add to your anxiety or worries.

I’ve a iPhone watch and find it pretty accurate but use it as a guidance, for instance I try to do 10k steps per day. If I do around 9k then I’m not too bothered but if I only do 2k then I’m obviously not doing enough. Regarding the HR it’s about spot on with my BP monitor but I’m having a CRT-D fitted next week and the Cardiologist has said that once I’ve had it fitted then the HR won’t be correct as watches can’t read paced hearts and I’ll be paced 100% of the time.

There is an Afib app you can subscribe to for £5.99 per month and it can check your rhythm which may be cheaper? Plus it gives you a little ECG which you can download and send to your doc 😁
