Crikey I’ve just googled pictures of Oregon, very beautiful 😊 there’s one major snow capped mountain in most pictures. Impressive!

Yes there are more parks here then anywhere else, it's carved in batches and batches of forests and trees and rivers. I have huge huge pine trees that look like giant Christmas tree outside my window

Hello :-)

What a nice gesture :-)

It is starting to cool down a little now here in the UK

You live in a very beautiful place :-)

Hope you are keeping well :-) x

Recovering three months post triple bypass surgery. I'm alone n have no family or friends...I'm surviving. It's nice to make friends but it seems not many care to stay in touch.

That is true HeartaFlutter In difficult times we see who is our friend and who is not.

But we also get to know new people who are with us on our journey.

It is hard, I know. We don't have anyone in UK neither. So I understand. We are all here for each other..

And thank you for the wonderful offer.

Regards

Shaivi

Oh your very welcomed actually during this horrible recovery when I wasn't allowed to drive, or able to lift my arms, my two wonderful lady neighbor, Tina, then recruited Kathy n Kathy took me to all drs appts run errands, buy heavy groceries, walk my dog take trash out , it was a blessing. Tina worked all day n cares for her uncle n she would come walk my dog, clean my cat box, sweep up for me. Unload the heavy groceries. I was very critical and was in ICU for ten days, usual is three.

Today is Sunday I'm up having coffee and then I'll watch a bit of tv and maybe take a nap. Heat wave is coming later on and staying a week. Eeewwe

in reply to HeartaFlutter

Hello :-)

It is Sunday here to but afternoon so we are a bit ahead of you :-)

It is still warm here but not like the heatwave last week and now your turn to have it :-)

I believe though you are more equipped and have aircon in most of your properties which must be a huge help :-)

Stay cool and enjoy that coffee :-) x

Well actually there are no air-conditioning in our apartments, houses, I bought one it's a small window one. My neighbor helps me lifting it up to the window except this year I couldn't help her she lifted it up by herself, she's strong. Yes it's 9:15 am here.

in reply to HeartaFlutter

O dear then that is not good maybe you could get a portable one or a fan at least to help :-)

So you have just started your day then :-)

I hope it is a good one :-) x

Oh yes I do have a window AC, it's marvelous.

Dear HeartaFltter

What an extremely nice thought and gesture on your part, but as always the heat went as fast as it came here.

Oregon looks stunning and I have seen it in odd films.

sorry to hear that you are alone both physically and mentally, but you know that we are here and will try to be as supportive as we can.

take care you are in my thoughts.

Yes it's why they're called heat waves, haha. But no one likes them.

Hi HeartaFlutter…..nice name! How are you now doing 3 months post-op? Are you feeling a bit better? Getting moving again? Tell us more.

HeartaFlutter profile image
HeartaFlutter in reply to Kristin1812

Well I'm able to now drive myself n get groceries, n do small errands, I do feel a lot of pain where the wires are tied up holding the sternum. N my incision which is huge is very tender.

Kristin1812 profile image
Kristin1812Heart Star in reply to HeartaFlutter

So you are managing a bit more routine stuff, which is good, though still some scar discomfort and where the wires are. Is that as expected?

HeartaFlutter profile image
HeartaFlutter in reply to Kristin1812

I did see my primary doctor on Friday and he said my scar is still pretty red, and raw but yes it's normal for this stage of the healing, he said 6 months is where it'll b better. As for the wires, I can CHOOSE to get them removed! Oh no no no. Thank you for asking.

Kristin1812 profile image
Kristin1812Heart Star in reply to HeartaFlutter

So you have a time-frame. I’m guessing that helps you settle down to it…..and must be good news to know your healing is normal. Perhaps someone here might comment on how difficult it was to get their wires removed? Would that help?

HeartaFlutter profile image
HeartaFlutter in reply to Kristin1812

Oh sweet God no no no, this operation was so painful and traumatic that I would never have any surgeon touch me. Hiccups are so painful bc the diaphragm slams into the wires.

Good Morning HaF

How are you doing now?

I looked back and saw that you were still in a lot of pain 2months ago but, after seeing the surgeon, hoping that things would improve in the following 6 weeks. Has that been the case?

I will search to see what Oregon is like. A sudden increase in Google hits, those that monitor such things will wonder what’s going on!!

The heat was quite intense in the UK but has abated for now. A warning sign of things to come though, sadly.

Hope you are feeling better and life has rebalanced for you .

Went o bed in a still stifling bedroom; woke up shivering. It's really cold here this morning and raining gently. Such a relief. I can almost heart the garden slurping up the rain.

HeartaFlutter profile image
HeartaFlutter in reply to Qualipop

Yes the poor earth is just dry n wanting to be watered.. just got back from getting my groceries n picking up my meds, it's warm in 80d but sun is brutal. Glad to be back in my ac place.. enjoy the rain 🌧️

Qualipop profile image

Still raining this morning. Unfortunately I need to hang my washing out and my gardener's due this afternoon. . We are never satisfied LOL

HeartaFlutter profile image
HeartaFlutter in reply to Qualipop

I'm sure your gardener will appreciate working in the cool rain. Oh it's been years since I hung clothes out after washing. I love that it's the best, smell and feel on clothes. Enjoy the wet nectar.

Qualipop profile image
Qualipop in reply to HeartaFlutter

I don't have a dryer; never have so washing always goes out on the line. Why use electric when we have fresh air for free? AN hour or two on the radiator if the heating's on does just as well

HeartaFlutter profile image
HeartaFlutter in reply to Qualipop

I also discovered that too. Or I put a fan on low and that works, also. I handwash small light stuff, heavy big stuff I use washer and dry. We don't have any in apartment.

I went to grad school in Eugene and I would move back there in a NY minute if it wasn't so far away from my family (over 3000 miles!)! I can vouch for the fact that Oregon is beautiful.

HeartaFlutter profile image
HeartaFlutter in reply to PecanSandie

Eugene really? Yes it's really far, I'm not from here, I'm from San Diego CA, moved there when I was 19. Weather here is too cold for some one from southwest

What a lovely, generous offer and what a beautiful place. You certainly find out who your friends are when you have a life crisis of any sort. I also live on my own but I get support from here. I hope you'll stay on this forum.

Hi ! Just to let you know that you’re not alone. It’s a big community and there’s always someone to talk to ! We’re all struggling in our own way and it’s nice to connect with like minded people who understand . The main thing is that we’re all still alive . And that’s great . Many others didn’t get the opportunity but we did. So we should enjoy our lives . Life isn’t easy but it’s good to be alive ! I hope you’re healing well ,xx
