Can you describe what has happened? Seizure can mean many things.
I’m on holiday in Crete and my husband woke in the morning to find me having a seizure. It was very mild and controlled but then afterwards, I wasn’t breathing so he gave me chest compressions which worked.I’m 43, with Afib and minor leaky mitral valve.
I’ve had 2 ablations for Afib and a third ablation for Atrial Flutter. I’m in a Greek hospital now in ICU but they’re transferring me into another ward soon. Bloodworks all look good apparently but I’m going to petrified to fall asleep again. I had already woken that morning but fallen back to sleep.
Thanks, B
It sounds as if you are in the best place and hopefully they will find out what happened to cause the seizure. My husband had what seemed to be a seizure but it was a serious case of Rigors. He shook uncontrollably for about an hour and a half .Ambulance staff in uk were puzzled by it and he went into hospital where they diagnosed an infection.
I wish you well and hope you will soon be well enough to fly back to the uk.
There are different kinds of Afib but my friend with Afib has ‘seizures’ during hot weather only. Dehydration seems to affect him or at least hot weather. He feels he has to be careful then. You are in Greece now, could you be especially sensitive to even moderate dehydration?
My husband has AF and is awaiting ablation a few weeks ago he collapsed shaking and sweating uncontrollably his blood pressure became very low. He spent 4 days in hospital where they said he had become very stressed (problems with the car!) dehydrated due to the heat this had caused his blood pressure to drop and because of his AF his heart was struggling. They gave him lots of fluids and he took it easy for a few weeks and he seems to be back to normal now. Just waiting for the operation which is scheduled for October.
Thank you
