Crazy reading………..needs recording x
It’s not BPM.
I’m going to ring my cardiac nurse tomorrow and let her know xx
In case you don’t realise, this is Heart Rate Variability (HRV) NOT BPM. The ms is milliseconds.
Hi Tori. I been thinking about you and hoping you were getting on OK. That reading is ridiculous although someone has replied saying that 201 is not heart rate.
I can't pretend to understand any of this but would contact your cardiac team for some reassurance.
Good luck. Love and hugs. Jan xxxxxx
HRV is a totally different heart metric to BPM -
“heart rate variability (HRV) measures the time between each heartbeat.”
Thanks SheldonC. I've learned something!Any relation to the Big Bang Sheldon!!!
All the best. Jan
Just a big fan of the show 😀
Me too!!
I hope buddy2blue gets some help. It must be so hard for her.
All the best. Jan
I hope she does to, whilst the 201 is not a heart rate reading, her Apple Watch is showing a max of 137 and frequent events at that level.
Thank you for your replay Jan. I was a bit confused as to what I’ve been written, and when you thro sleep deprivation in there as well it got a bit confusing for me xxx
201 is a heart rate reading. And although it didn’t stay there for long. It stayed that long enough for it to be registered. I have a very poorly and unpredictable heart. It’s also swollen damaged and very scared xx
Sorry I was just saying that the picture that you have posted showing 201 is not a heart rate reading, you can see in the picture it says 201ms, the ms stands for milliseconds which tells me that it is a Heart Rate Variability reading.
You must have posted the wrong picture, be sure you send the correct one to your cardiac nurse.
I agree it’s HRV but can you remind me why HRV is important? I understand that a higher figure is better than a low one but I don’t know why. Mine always seems to be very low unfortunately.
From an article i had read - "It is variable, but most people have a score between 46.3-72. HRV declines as people get older, so if you are 20-25-years old you’ll likely be in the 55-105 range, while 60-65-year olds may be between 25-45.".
From WebMD:
Why Check Heart Rate Variability?
It can identify ANS imbalances. When your system is in fight-or-flight mode, the difference between heartbeats is low as compared to when you are in a relaxed mode where the difference between the heartbeats is high.
HRV can detect stress levels. People with low HRV can easily experience acute stress while people with high HRV rarely experience stress and their cardiovascular system is in great shape. Checking your HRV can help you understand how to respond to stress in a healthier way.
May increase awareness of your lifestyle habits. Checking your HRV is one way you can know if your lifestyle habits are healthy or unhealthy for your heart and a great tool to motivate behavioral change.
It can detect your reaction to the environment, and emotions. Your nervous system can tell you how you are reacting to your environment, feelings, and emotions when you track your HRV.
Can increase your self-awareness. HRV measurements can help increase your awareness of how you live and think, and how your behavior affects your nervous system and bodily functions.
I get that but my heart rate relies incredibly heavily on my Pacemaker that works 24/7
I have been told by my cardigan nurse in any case to not trust too much home monitors and things Apple Watch as they calculate an average. When you see your heart monitor showing a high figure always double check by counting the beats manually on your own pulse
If my heart rate is to high it puts to much Pressure on my heart that is already failing and struggling. I also have 3 blood clots so it’s a more of a concern. I hope I have explained that okay xx
