Anyone any experience of atenolol as replacement for Bisoprolol or Diltiazem ?

2.5mg Bisoprolol wasn’t helping and 5mg made me feel like a zombie. GP switched me to Diltiazem 120mg twice daily. Not had any noticeable side effects but at same time haven’t really noticed any improvement. Consultant has suggested Atenolol 25mg as he feels beta blockers are better option for sinus tachycardia. Would appreciate any comments. My worst symptom is the breathlessness on any exertion and more so on any incline. Thanks.

Hi. I don’t have experience of them myself but my husband took them for about twenty years and from all the tablets he took that was the one he said improved his breathlessness on walking up hill.

Hubby took it for 14 years but was changed to bisoprolol last November when his diagnosis changed. It was the ‘standard’ issue for many years until some of the newer ones came along!
