1, can Apixaban cause oedema to form in the hand?

2, can Apixaban adversely affect osteoarthritis?

I am afraid i don’t know the answer to your questions. There is no doubt but I do bruise more easily and also bleed more but I can cope with that. I too have arthritis and have had it for years. The docs say that it should be worse than it is and I must be doing something right. I have minimal sugar and am gluten free and I take omega 3, glucosamine and chondroitin and do various other dietary/supplements etc. It may not suit you of course but def cutting sugar out as much as possible cannot do any harm.

I changed to apixaban from Warfarin which I found dreadful. I believe it is one of the best if not the best alternative but then again everyone is different and reacts differently. There are other blood thinners out there. I have been on apixaban for years and am happy(ish) with it. Small price to pay for not having a stroke.
