LVSD Experience?

Hi. I am currently on Bisoprolol, which appears to have had a positive impact on my lvsd and EF. I am anxious that this progress may relapse or regress, so was wondering if anyone has had experience of what other treatments are tried if medication proves unsuccessful? Many Thanks

Hi SeagullerI was diagnosed with LVSD and EF of 25% March 2021...I was devastated and it's taking sometime to accept.

I was put on Nebivolol, Perindopril and Spironolactone, I'm on maximum dosage of all three. My last Echocardiogram last September showed I had gone from severe LVSD to moderately severe and my EF had improved to 38%, two months ago I was put on maximum dose of Dapagliflozin . I am at the moment asymptomatic with just the occasional heart flutterings, fingers crossed I either improve or at least stay stable.

I hope this goes someway to answering some of your questions...Take care and stay safe 😊

Sorry, what is LVSD? It isn't on the list!I had an EF of 20%. With a pacemaker and Entresto, it is now up to 60%, so meds can improve some cases.

do these drugs help the heart by lowering blood pressure? or are they doing something specifically to the heart?

Thank you. Yes. I am just wondering what else can be done if they do not work.

If your medication treatment is working why are you anxious about it failing? The time to get concerned is if and when it starts to fail and at that time you will be discussing your options with your health professional. In the meantime rejoice in the knowledge that your medication appears to be working and stop worrying.

Thanks. I guess its just that the original cause could not be identified so I worry it has not been fully addressed.

Sure. You are right. Just wondering what other interventions are likely to be used as alternatives?
