Morning all,

I've recently found out I've got a LAE (Left Atrium Enlargment) I'm currently 19 weeks pregnant.. I'm just wondering if anyone's been pregnant with this before and how did you get on with pregnancy/birth as I won't lie it's starting to panic me now. I have SVT with rare episodes of atrial flutter along with signs of 1st degree heart block. My iron levels are said to be extremely low also. My cardiologist has to decide my birthing plan so I'm just wondering if anyone can relate and how did it go ?

TIA X

Hello CourtsL,

Welcome to the forum.

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

You can be referred to a specialist centre that provides maternity care for women with heart conditions.

Here's an example of one in London.

Your birth plan is usually a joint shared decision between you, your Cardiologist, Obstetrician, Midwife and any other healthcare professionals who maybe involved in the birth of your baby.

Good luck!

Thank you so much, I really appreciate the response! My 3rd pregnancy but the 1st one with diagnosis, I've been under cardiology for 6 years only got diagnosis 16 months ago for SVT and the rest and they found the enlargement recently. I'm going to have a look at these centres, I didn't know about them so thank you it's greatly appreciated!
