Worried wife triple bypass update 2
Hello
It is so worrying I know but keep the faith he is in safe hands and they know exactly what they are doing
After my Bypass I was in Intensive care for 4 days it is not unusual they keep you in there till they are totally happy you are ready to go on the ward again which is a good thing as Intensive care is where you get the one to one treatment
Some may need to stay there longer others not quite as long this is so normal
Keep making your lists of questions for them and when you visit ask so you can have peace of mind
He will soon be up and about again and home with you x
Hello to the pair of you,
Lesley never be feared to ask your questions to the staff on the ward, if they don’t know the answer {rare} they will find it for you.
Going into Arterial Fibulation after open heart surgery is very common and I was even discharge with it, {mine was controlled by drugs} it could be the same for Roger or it will go when he is on the ward.
And he will return to the ward when they are happy for him to do so, you have to be able to go to the loo, fluid in and out and eating something. He will have to be able to cough and clear his lungs {small steps leading to big ones}
Roger is another day into his journey and so are you, I promise you they will fly by and the pair of you can put this all back into perspective.
Take care , you are not alone {just look around the ward/intensive care} and we are here as well for you.
Hi again
My fiancé was about to be discharged to the “normal” ward and then went into atrial fibrillation (he’d never had it before) so had to stay in ICU for an additional 24 hours.
He was on intravenous drugs initially and then he stayed on medication for it for a few months, as he developed other rhythm issues too. I hadn’t realised how common it is after bypass, at the time.
Hope you’ve seen your husband and he’s doing well (and you too!)
