Hello

Just a question is it still routine to need a swab test prior to having an Angiogram and then to Self Isolate for 3 days after the swab ??

Regards

I would think so. In mid-May I am having further surgery and have to isolate for 14 days and take a swab test 3 days before. The hospital has a bed shortage due to Covid cases so I may even be cancelled. The medical staff are unimpressed by this relaxing of mask wearing, distancing and isolating. I have never known of so many cases!

If you have an angiogram booked you will no doubt be given an information sheet explaining what to expect and any pre appointment preparations required. If in doubt ring the hospital.

Hi Thanks for the reply

I do have an Angiogram booked just wondering if it is still routine to have a swab test and to isolate for 3 days prior to Angiogram. I am going to have possibly larger stents inserted Consultant said stents I have are small calibre and he thinks I need larger ones !!! Cardiac Nurse will phone on Thursday to say what Medication to leave off prior to going for the procedure

Covid swabs are routine for any procedure in our health authority and MRSA swabs for any inpatient/invasive procedure. Hope all goes well take care❤️

Hello you,

Same as above, it seems that {Southampton general} wont let you onto a ward for a range of procedures until the test and isolation is done.

Ours is done in the middle of no-where on a car park {the test not the Angiogram lol}

Take care

It’s the same for Wonford and Exeter allow you into the ward unless you’ve isolated and had a swab LFT, The hospital normally organises the LFT for you

Interesting as I am due to have a colonoscopy (other end :) ) and they have not mentioned Covid at all, no do a LFT or a PCR test and self isolate! This is in Derbyshire
