Muscle pains with Isosorbide mononitrate

Hi, I've been prescribed 30mg Isosorbide mononitrate and since taking I've been getting intense muscle pains in my arms and legs at night that keep me awake.

I've only been on it for 3 days and on the first day I took double the dose as I misread the label.

I know people say give it a week or so to get used to it, I just wanted some reassurance it may get better. If anyone experienced the same could you please let me know how you got on?

Thank you :)

I transitioned from 30mg to 60mg dose after about 4 days. Fortunately no issues other than the dreaded headache for 2 days on first taking 30mg dose. Had a 10 minute (yes 10 minutes!) phone consultation with a GP from my surgery when moving onto the 60mg dosage. I gave him my BP and resting pulse data. Both fine. Been on higher dose for ten days. All fine. Have to say it has transformed my situation as no more bouts of angina (yet!) and this week have cycled 35 miles in one go and jogged 6km on another day. Good luck

Thank you! I haven't had the headaches everyone talks about, I didn't with the GTN spray either.

I'll keep going, maybe my first double dose has mucked things up, I didn't take one yesterday as thought I should 'reset' and slept all night with no pain.
