Need advice. I have tried both propranolol and bisprolol. Both gave me horrendous headaches. Stopped them. It looks like I might have to take something for bad palpitations EJ 50%. 3 years ago. Cardiologist said to have another echo in 12 months that was 2020. Two weeks ago doctor rang me up about my heart failure which was news to me. Told him Ihad echo 2020 but they can’t find results. Doctor said he would check with secretary. He noticed. I wasn’t on meds. Although he could see on my notes. I to,d himI am fine. Now these last couple of days felt horrible. I am now waiting for him to call me. Rang the surgery this morning. He said any problems call them. I am very sensitive to meds and this bothers me

I'm sensitive to meds too, but I take a very small dose of the beta blocker Metoprolol and no headaches. Could you ask to try that one?

I am taking propranolol and the only problem that I have is what the Patient Information Leaflet describes as "vivid dreams". The PIL does not mention headaches as a known side effect of taking propranolol so it should be discussed with your GP. That's not easy nowadays so I would suggest that you talk to the BHF nurses.
