Heart Attack or SVT with high Troponin

Hi, I’ve been in hospital for 5 days with a suspected heart attack. My troponin levels were in the 200’s. I’ve been discharged with SVT and Troponin leakage and put on Bisoprolol Furmate 2.5mg. The discharging Dr said I can go back to work straight away but tbh I feel rubbish. Very anxious, dizzy and exhausted. I feel confused, was it a heart attack? Should I be going back to after a week?

Hi Goldcats,

Talk to your GP before thinking about going back to work, it doesn't sound like you are well enough to return yet. The GP should be able to access information and you may get a clearer explanation. Your GP will probably want to do some follow up bloodwork too.

My GP gave me a 'fit note' for staggered hours when I returned to work after a heart attack. I think I started back at 4hrs a day for a week or 2, and gradually increased back to full time. I hadn't realised that I needed this gradual return, but it really helped as I was much more tired than I thought I would be.
