Hi,I have had a hiatus hernia for years, I have been having chest ache for quite a while, I finally went to gp and after examining me put me on anjina medication my ecg came back as normal, the aspirin made my hiatus hernia worse and the gp said to stop aspirin for 4wks,anyone else had anjina symptoms and hiatus symptoms seem the same, since stopping aspirin for nearly a week the indigestion in my chest is easing, anyone else similar, I have got some tests coming up shortly.

Good morning, Radars.

I don't have angina but I do have atrial fibrillation and a hiatus hernia.

I was put on aspirin at first which upset my stomach terribly and I had a small gastro-intestinal bleed from it. I was then changed to clopidogrel which I took for years but more recently I have been changed to Apixaban.

I also take Lansoprazole which reduces the stomach acid. I cannot manage without it!

I don't know if this helps you at all.

xx Moy

Thanks, I will ask about alternative to aspirin, before all this i was on 20mg of rabeprazole a day but since starting aspirin I had to increase to 2×20mg, but now I have stopped aspirin i have gone back to 20mg but I am still having to clear my throat a lot especially after eating and I have been belching more so its my hiatus hernia and a bit of chest pain sometimes.
