Hi ,Yes tiredness and sometimes being breathless does seem to occur with heart disease (most certainly in my case) but things do improve but you have to make lifestyle changes such as more exercise and most importantly try and cut down stress or stressful situations .
I found that cutting down on meat and replacing with fish and vegetables helped hugely and lost about a stone in weight as a bonus.
Try being positive and you’ll find improvements in your overall health will come .In my own case the process has not been as quick as I’d have liked but only had two stents fitted in mid July. Breathlessness will subside as your heart recovers and eventually the tiredness will subside a good bit too.
Best ,
Eddie .
Hi Ruth, I'd say yes. Sometimes I think it's down to the physical side of things and sometimes it's possibly down to the drugs side effects.
I'd recommend speaking to your GP or cardiologist to see if they can tweak anything or just check you to make sure everything is still titckityboo.
Best of luck 👍😊
Hello Ruth,
18 months into bypass and I am often breathless and tired despite healthy diet, quit smoking and loads of exercise. I think it comes with the territory. I see lots of posts on here about shortness of breath and tiredness/lethargy. On the plus side, my partner is jealous of how well I sleep 😂😂
Hi Ruth, personally I think the tiredness and breathlessness is all side effects of the usual heart meds. I live a very healthy lifestyle style, vegetables, salads, fish, nuts, fruit etc and walk daily, but come evening time I can't keep my eyes open, exhausted, I sleep about 4 hrs and wide awake during the night, again for me Id say it's all side effects from meds !!!
Welcome to the Hearties club!
I was knackered for a long time after my MIs (I still am, sort of). But a lot of that is down to the medication they put you on.
