Last night wasn’t fun

Since my heart attack in April I have been relatively ok , no scares or anything. Last night I was laying down watching tv and I felt sick and extremely warm ( I’m menopausal ) threw the blanket off and sat up . I started sweating to the point it was dripping off my jaw and nose and I was freezing . I was home alone , doora all locked etc . My husband right now is in America for thanksgiving with his family . Anyway I knew something was badly wrong I couldn’t focus I didn’t feel that I was ‘here’ . I took my temperature which was 34.4 . I couldn’t call anyone but used my voice and asked Siri to call leonna , my daughter n law who’s a nurse . Long story short , my son forced me to call 111 , he came down to the house I managed to unlock the door , I was on the phone for 45 minutes mostly being left on hold , it was extremely frustrating. I honestly thought due to the sweating that my temperature was high , but apparently it was very low . After an hour or so with my heating on full blast and more clothing my temperature got higher to 34.7 , then my thermometer broke . Great 🙄. Doctor called me at 10pm . He said that maybe it was a mini stroke or some heart blip , and I’d it happens again to give them another call . So basically no answers to what happened. Daughter n law thinks it may have been angina ? I have no idea ,, 🤷🏼‍♀️ . I slept ok , I have dressed extra warm today and have the heating on , but I’m obviously very nervous. As I said my husband is away atm so I’m not telling him any of this until he gets back . Does anyone have any idea what happened??

That sounds weird Notdead. It may not be heart related, we do tend to think it's always the heart when feeling unwell.

That said, if it happens again, if I were you I would get my son to take me to A&E.

I hope you are ok now

🤞

I feel ok this morning, I can’t take my temperature because like I said it broke , I have ordered a new one though . I feel very nervous because I am alone and I don’t drive . I ate a lot more than I normally do yesterday under my sons orders . I normally eat an apple and a very small evening meal and that’s it . Yesterday I had a roll and coleslaw meat , Doritos 😂 apple a cake 😂and curry for dinner 😂😂 , weither I can keep up that type of eating today is another thing . I’m just nervous. Hope you are doing ok and had a good weeks . Xxx

Afraid I don’t know what happened but I have had ‘experiences’ with some similarities. I’ve been lying down for a while and get up, feel dizzy/disorientated, sweat profusely and on one occasion passed out.The first time I thought it was something I ate at first as I felt sick too, the second time I’d had a couple of glasses of wine and realised I’d not drank enough water.

An ambulance was called second time, BP low, heart rate high, abnormal ecg (but my ecg is abnormal anyway) Still no firm idea of what happened.

Could be an anxiety attack. I have had similar symptoms. However if it happens again grit your teeth and head for A&E.

I don’t think it’s a panic attack I don’t have anxiety at all , I’m so relax and I worried about things , I’m 53 no gray hair 😂😂 I’m so relaxed about thing I could be dead 😂😂😂😂

Hello,

As well as having vasospastic angina and migraine, I also experience Raynaud's phenomenon.

When I have episodes of coronary vasospasms, as well as chest pain, I sweat, feel sick and very cold, my hands and feet turn white, and my teeth chatter.

All the blood vessels in my body constrict.

The staff in hospital struggle to put any cannulas in my usually very compliment veins.

I need to warm up fast, when at home I use 2 hot water bottles. In hospital they have to give me lots and lots of blankets.

In the cold weather I wear multiple layers to keep warm.

I suggest you follow up with your GP about what happened.

Your daughter in law might be right.

This sounds very much like it , whenever I bet blood taken they have real problems getting into my veins , now they have to use a baby’s butterfly needle . I’m constantly cold my hands , right hand especially is always cold compared to the rest of my body , my toes and feet are the same . There isn’t any change of colour that I can see though . Since it happened Friday , I have kept the heating on high , I’m wearing layers of clothes , I normally wear a T-shirt and leggings , extras blanket on the bed etc . Can I ask , would an electric blanket be a good idea ? My son wanted to run and get me one from Tesco yesterday before his flight to Holland for work . My father had raynolds as I recall , he had a heart attack much the same as mine and a bypass , then had raynolds (sp)

I have an electric blanket too!

One other thought, have you been prescribed beta blockers?

I can't take beta blockers as they are contraindicated if you have coronary vasospasms and Raynaud's phenomenon. I ended up in CCU with unstable angina after being prescribed beta blockers.

I suggest you discuss this with your GP and Cardiologist as there are alternatives to beta blockers.

Yes I take 10 mg of bisoprolol in the morning, along with all the other usual medication we are all on . I also take 8 tramadol a day and 8 string paracetamol. The nurse on the phone said it could alone some infection and the paracetamol is masking a fever .

That's a lot of medication, especially the painkillers. I would be inclined to get that reviewed. Try a pharmacist.

in reply to Wooodsie

That is then reviewed , I used to take codamol, they changed to tramadol and the paracetamol.

Gosh, that must be something else surely.

Chronic back pain , when I had my son they allowed a trainee to try and fit the epidural, she removed some spinal fluid. The pains just got worse over the many years . 😂
