Slightly raised D-dimer post stent !!

3 weeks post stent I have a letter asking me to go for a CT Angiogram pulmonary this Sunday. I am somewhat surprised as the discharging doctor did not mention any of this, there is nothing on my discharge sheet and my GP knows nothing about it. The only hint was in the morning after my stent was fitted when a registrar mentioned my d-dimer was slightly raised and this may indicate a blood clot in the lungs and so a CT scan may be necessary. Because it subsequently wasn't referred to the letter came as a shock.

Has anyone else experienced a slightly raised d-dimer and follow up CT scan?Would the hospital discharge me with a possible blood clot on the lungs ?

Thanks in anticipation
