Hi everyone,

Following the discovery that I have a narrow vein lrading from my artery I have been prescribed Trangina XL, as the vein is too small to receive a stent.

I have been tak8ng the medication and have been suffering from balance issues, confusion, and slightly blurred vision. I am loatge to stop taking the medication as it really does help the burning sensation in my heart when walking etc. Has anyone suffered anything similar and found an alternative or solution?

Many thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum?

To avoid confusion Trangina XL is a brand name for Isosorbide Mononitrate prescribed as an anti-anginal. It took about a week to 10 days to get used to it as initially it gave me dreadful headaches much like getting a GTN hit Have you checked your BP to check you are not going hypo-tensive? Another anti-anginal I was on both together with Isosorbide Mononitrate and separately was Diltiazem (a CCI - Calcium Channel Inhibitor). This was more effective at reducing pain from angina for me but suited me less.

Thanks Michael,

I have got a call with the cardio rehab team so I'll take it up with them and let you all know what they recommend.

Thanks
