Strangely enough, Ramipril gave me terrible angina. I couldnt do anything but had to sit down and wait for spray to ease the pain (after ha and 3 stents) Amazing difference not on it, just a wee warning, not good for all xx
Ramipril just relaxes the arteries makes them more flexible, not just for folks after HA hope you feeling better on them, they often taken at night before bed
Thankyou I feel fine , b p has been going up and down for a few years now ( not that I ve felt any different ) it was only when I went to a chiro that we found out it to be high again recently and after doing a month of readings that were very high I was put on the high dose . It was only when I was reading about it that I noticed it said about h a .
I take mine in the morning with my other meds but to be honest I still feel no different like before but you have put my mind at ease , Thankyou
As PeterpPiper says just a blood vessel relaxant. I would record how you feel after taking the increased dose on a daily basis. I take Ramipril, was om 10mg now 5mg and always take my meds after tea. Stay safe and good luck.
I was on 10mg Ramipril for years with no adverse effects, I had a stroke and my med regime was changed so now on a different med. If you have no side effects I wouldn't worry about it.
I'm on 10mg (having been titrated up from 1.25mg) and it's interesting how you see it as being used for those who've had a heart attack whereas I knew it as a med for those with high BP.!
After my second heart attack I went back down to 1.25mg before going back up to 10mg. I struggled when I went down to 1.25mg and found life easier once I was back up to 10mg. Might have been the placebo effect? But as you will know your bloods and BP are checked before you go to the next dosage of the drug.
I never had high BP after my first heart attack and still was prescribed it. In short, it's use is explained really well by PeterpPiper
Hi, I take 10 mg Ramipril for high blood pressure, have done so for a couple of years, it suits me fine but I know some people have problems with it.
I have been taking Ramiprill 2.5 mg once a day since Feb 21 (when I had an MI). I was told by my GP to stop taking it as my BP is always very low.
