Sternum wires are titanium or non-ferromagnetic stainless steel. They are called "magnetic resonance conditional" metals which means there's no problem doing an MRI provided certain conditions are met eg. Magnetic field is not above a certain level.

Thanks I thought that would be the case I always put it on the question paper prior to having the MRI scan. I have seen the wires on the screen just prior to having a Angiogram and it would appear there is around six wires.

Thanks for your reply

Regards
