Does anyone have any experience with these tablets? Having been diagnosed in august with mild dilated cardiomyopathy, I have been taking ramipril & bisoprolol 2.5mg for two months, I had a few strange episodes due to the medicines but got to a place where I felt my body was used to

It & the symptoms went from getting worse to better. I was told to up the bisoprolol to 5mg after I was seen by the cardiologist on my first consultation since the diagnosis. , so for 3 weeks I did up the bisoprolol but felt worse! so my cardiologist has now sent me back to the original 2.5 again & I feel like the palpitations have become

More frequent again they settled after a few weeks on the tablets first time round so I hope they do again & I can feel better. I have no symptoms whatsoever apart from these heart palpitations due to the arrhythmia problem caused by the dilated cardiomyopathy. I have been told the paroxysmal AF that is affecting me is due to the cardiomyopathy so Hopefully these tablets can kick In & leave me alone soon & I can crack on without it bothering me a lot. if anyone has any info or experience with dealing with similar problems please do give lend me your knowledge. Stay safe ❤️

Hi GM. It's generally reckoned that it takes our bodies around 2 months to get used to new drugs, but of course that means some people get used to them sooner, some longer. However, if your palpitations are getting worse, I'm not sure that's a side effect of either Bisoprolol or Ramipril. It might be worth talking to your cardiologist again if you can and explain the "strange episodes" you've experienced. There are also alternative drugs you can try that do the same for your heart - I'm on Carvedilol instead of Biso, and Candesartin instead of Ramipril.
