The information you have been given is inaccurate.

There are several centres in the UK that carry out the appropriate testing for microvascular dysfunction and coronary vasospasms using adenosine and acetylcholine during an angiogram.

St Thomas's hospital London and Golden Jubilee in Glasgow.

Microvascular dysfunction can also be detected by a Cardiac perfusion MRI.

I had an angiogram in 2014 with acetylcholine which confirmed my diagnosis of vasospastic angina.

I suggest you ask to be referred to one of the hospitals taking part into a possible treatment for MVA.

The PRIZE trial.

Another option is to ask to be referred to the team at St Thomas's hospital who are also carrying out research into diagnosing microvascular dysfunction and vasospastic angina.

You'll find the contact details of the research team at the end of this link.

As a result of the findings of The CorMicA research, the assessment of the coronary arteries using acetylcholine is a recommended test in the European Society of Cardiology Chronic Coronary syndromes guidelines.

This type of functional testing will soon be adopted by other hospitals.

The hospital I attend in north London has plans to start using acetylcholine and adenosine during angiograms soon.
