I suggest you discuss your concerns with the Cardiology team and Anaethetist who are responsible for your father's care.

As Milkfairy has said you need to discuss this with his care team. It depends on age, fitness, existing health conditions, previous heart surgery (there can be issues with scar tissue), etc.

puzzled by the term 'weekly surgery' - that sounds a tad drastic - but as others have said, you need to be speaking to the Cardiology team managing the care and treatment.
