Hi there, I have been advised by cardiac nurse I have MVA as have discomfort on rest and pressure in middles of chest as if bra to tight. This has been going on for nearly a year. Stent in Oct 2020 in LAD and pains ever since, blockage only found on scan as everything else was showing all in order but I was experiencing pains. Can I ask your symptoms, I am 50, history of heart attacks in family that were fatal. Take care,

Hi, Larkswood, I started to have sporadic chest pain and was feeling markedly more tired and regularly out of breath prior to being diagnosed with MVA so I would definitely say that this is a symptom.

I’m 61, used to be very fit and active in sports, and been managing MVA and coronary heart spasms for three/four years now, supported by a super cardiologist who has helped me to find a great mix of meds allowing me to continue with life and most activities; however, since all the various tests and settled medication, I am still far, far more tired and incredibly breathless when having to exert myself, than I ever was: whether this is due to getting older and/or the medication, I’m not sure!! 😂

Thank you I think it’s a mixture of growing old and our conditions as my consultant said to me we can’t go on forever but I will try take care

Hello,

You might find this website helpful.

internationalheartspasmsall...

Patients living with microvascular angina usually experience pain on exertion, those with vasospastic angina have pain at rest typically between 12 midnight and 6 am in the morning.

The treatment for MVA and vasospastic angina is different as the underlying causes are not the same.

I was assumed to have microvascular dysfunction until I had a specialised angiogram which confirmed I have coronary vasospasms, spasms in my small and large blood vessels.

Oh, my bra feels too tight is absolutely a symptom of angina, that should go in the medical text books!

The BHF website has this information about microvascular and vasospastic angina.

I'm also 66, get tired quickly, I have been diagnosed with microvascular angina through special angiogram. My up and go leaves some days before I get up, other days I manage at a slow pace, do a bit rest. Then, there are times I just need to close my eyes, maybe 5min or longer. Old age or heart?? I used to have perfect blood pressure, now high, spent yesterday morning at hospital with blood nose, blood thinners made it hard to stop, especially with blood thinners. Just take one day at a time, new normal. Take care. Moni

Thanks for replying it reads the same as me it’s so frustrating because I have parents to look after and I used to take my grandchildren to school but I just can’t cope with it all I am usually one of these people who just get on with things but this condition is not good I feel like a sleepy door mouse all afternoon I am quite bright in the morning but by 2pm I just want to sleep when I see my consultant I am going to ask him if I can have anything to make me stay awake you take care and thank you for your information
